Etihad
Airways issues statement on US travel restrictions
Following
advice received today from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection unit at Abu
Dhabi Airport, Etihad Airways will be accepting nationals from the seven
countries, whose citizens are restricted from traveling to the United States of
America, the airline announced.
A statement
issued by the airline today indicates that acceptance will naturally be subject
to checks completed by U.S. authorities as existed prior to the issuance of the
Executive Order on January 27.
The airline
says it will continue to monitor developments in the U.S. and will work closely
with the authorities and its guests as the situation evolves. The airline
advised its guests to check official US government websites or the closest US
consulate prior to departure for the most up-to-date information on US entry
requirements.
“Our customer
service offices around the world will be working to ensure that the information
is shared with passengers, and we will provide updated advice and assistance to
our guests so their journeys can go ahead as planned,” the airline said.
